NoteInSite doesn't stick a sticker on top of a website: the note becomes part of the layout, like a sidebar in a magazine — the text moves aside and flows around it, nothing is covered. Next time you open the page, the note will be right where you left it.

A note takes up space in the layout: in a wide block the text flows around it, in a narrow one it moves down. Nothing is covered, and next time you open the page the note is exactly where it was — even if the layout has shifted.
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, 9 fonts, sizes from 11 to 40 px, text color and note color, lists, links and emoji. The toolbar appears when you click or tap a note and hides when you click elsewhere — it never gets in the way of reading.
Notes live in the browser's local storage. The extension makes no network requests, collects no statistics and doesn't read the content of the pages you work on.

Procedures, knowledge bases, documentation — a remark like “we do it differently here” goes right into the right step, and the text makes room for it.
Your summary sits next to the paragraph, not in a separate file where it's unclear what it referred to.
A note with a link to a reference opens it in a popup window of the right size — your tab stays free.
The 🌐 button makes a note shared across all pages of the site, and 📌 pins it to the screen.

Reload tabs that are already open: the notes layer connects when the page loads.
Right-click → “Add a note here”, Alt+Shift+N or Alt + double-click. The text will make room for the note by itself.
A click or tap on a note opens editing together with the toolbar; Esc or a click elsewhere closes it.

No. A note exists only in your browser: other visitors don't see it, and the website itself knows nothing about it. Sharing and syncing between devices are not supported.
A note looks for its anchor — the heading or paragraph it was placed next to. If that element is gone, the note returns to its saved coordinates. After a major redesign of the page you may need to move the note by hand.
You can place a note on any website, and there's no way to list them in advance. The access is used only to draw the extension's own notes layer and put notes back in place — page content is not read and not sent anywhere. See the privacy policy for details.
The extension window has “Export” and “Import” buttons: all notes are saved to a single JSON file and restored from it on another device.
The extension is built on Manifest V3 and designed for Chrome. In browsers on the same engine — Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera — it installs the same way, manually from the archive. Firefox and Safari are not supported.
Installation takes a minute, and your notes stay with you even offline.
